2 days at Gum Diggers with the Shore4wheelers

Members of the Shore4wheelers, the 4wd club based on Auckland’s North Shore had a great 2 days of exploration and adventure. Another Nz4wheelers trip: As Queen’s birthday arrived and we officially clicked over into the Winter season, colder southerly winds and frequent showers as expected make getting a group of people together to go overlanding somewhat more challenging. Iconic landscapes with the evolved icon

Going 4wheeling off the beaten path is every NZ4wheeling readers dream. Seeing some of these iconic landscapes just makes you want to go off-roading doesn’t it? Taming the Serpentine

On almost everyone’s to do list is the rough ridge mountains Serpentine 25km track off the Old Dunstan Road. This track leads into a well preserved historical mining area, deep in central Otago. This track is not maintained by the Central Otago District council and is currently in poor condition. The CODC advises extreme caution. You require good 4wd conditions to access this track and it pays to check local information and weather conditions first before attempting it. Location Feature: Bream Bay, Whangarei

Today’s location feature is Bream Bay, Whangarei. Situated alongside Ruakaka,  Bream Bay hosts a selection of white sandy beaches. With restrictions on dune 4x4ing and camping, it has firm and soft sand and a high water mark that allows easy carefree parking on the beach for the family to enjoy a barbeque, some friendly sports, or general sandcastle tom foolery.
